It is a matter of personal taste. before compression shorts some young athletes wore belts, while others have written, or better still, long johns under sub. Compression shorts are the thigh muscles to keep warm and firm for a better performance during and after an improved recovery. So, if you had prior to the exercise or continue to write, i dont think boxers would be a small consolation. You can "no ball" if you want ....
